Pune BRTS Corridor (Phase 3)
Pune has one of the most ambitious BRTS Network development plans of any Indian city. As of 2017, 2 Phases have been completed in the Pune BRTS and the 3rd Phase is under construction. The project involved preparing General Alignment Drawings (GAD), Good for Construction (GFC) drawings, and signal planning for three BRTS Corridors for Pune Municipal Corporation, totaling 15.5 km. The tasks included site studies to formulate design solutions, development of conceptual alignment with bus shelter locations, preparation of GAD drawings, analysis of infrastructure and operations design alternatives in BEAD Tool, development of cross-section designs and detailed junction design, signal phasing (a total of 30 intersections) and designing and development of final good for construction drawings. Additionally, the project team developed a detailed bill of quantities (BoQ), and specifications, assisted in the bid process as well as the procurement process, and co-ordinated with the Pune Municipal Corporation with the execution of the project. The project team also developed all typical construction details, signage, and pavement marking drawings. The contractor is appointed, and the project execution is ongoing at the site.
The three BRT corridors planned in this project were:
Corridor 1: Sadalbaba –Bombay Sappers–Vishrantwadi; 4.7 km
Corridor 2: Yerwada –Kharadi; 7.8 km
Corridor 3: Sadalbaba – Sangamwadi ; 3.0 km
